The problem

Farmers still have to be there every time the water runs.

On most farms, irrigation still means a person: travel to the pump, switch it on, and stay there watching until the field is done. Miss the window and crops stress; run too long and bores drain and money evaporates. The tools that promise to help assume apps, dashboards, English and always-on internet that rural farms rarely have.

Labour & distance

Pumps sit far from homes. Every irrigation cycle costs a trip, often at odd hours when grid power arrives.

Water & energy waste

Without scheduling against weather and tank levels, bores run dry, tanks overflow, and money evaporates.

Tools that don’t fit

Existing agri-tech ships apps and dashboards. Most farms have WhatsApp, patchy signal, and no patience for logins.

The system

Talk to your farm like you talk to a person.

The farmer instructs; the agent does the rest. Here is one simple example: a short WhatsApp message, and the field gets watered. The same pattern will carry every job on the farm.

The farmer instructs over WhatsApp FarmAgent understands and decides Your farm responds, safely plain words work, done for you it keeps working even when the internet drops
1

You chat

Tell the farm what you need in plain WhatsApp: water a zone, check the tank, plan the week. Nothing to install or learn.

2

The agent understands

FarmAT reads your message knowing your farm: its zones, its pumps, its tank levels and the weather ahead.

3

The agent acts

It switches equipment, watches the results, and tells you in the same chat what it did.

4

You stay in charge

Every action respects your approvals, and physical safety switches always outrank software.

Pumps are the first job we gave the agent, not the whole job. The same agent will watch crops, manage inputs and keep farm records as it grows.

Live pilot

We are proving it on our own farm first.

Before FarmAT manages anyone else’s crops, it manages ours. Every command it sends and every mistake it makes lands on our own fields and our own water bill. We will share what we learn as the first season completes.

“If the agent makes a mistake, it’s our harvest on the line. That’s the point. We build like users, not vendors.” Founder-operator, FarmAT pilot farm
Why FarmAT

Made for how farms actually work.

WhatsApp-native

Farmers already use WhatsApp every day. There is nothing to install, learn or log into.

Works without internet

The agent keeps its state and safety rules on the farm itself. If the connection drops, the farm keeps running.

Ordinary hardware

Built from standard smart switches and float switches. Any local technician can source, service and replace them.

Weather-aware

Satellite and forecast data shape when the agent waters. The schedule comes from the sky, not a guess.

Knows the land

The agent works from a map of the farm’s real zones, so it waters the field you meant, not somewhere.

Safety is physical

Float switches and manual overrides are wired into the hardware. They always have the final say.

Roadmap

First the pumps. Then the whole farm.

Now · pilot live

Growing on our own farm

The agent manages daily watering over WhatsApp, guided by live weather and field data. We learn on our own fields before anyone else’s.

Next · with this raise

First partner farms, and an agent that plans

A setup any farm can adopt, and an agent that plans watering on its own from weather, tank levels and crop stage, then asks the farmer to approve.

Vision

One agent for the whole farm

Fertigation, crop-health watch, labour and input logs, and market links: the whole farm in one chat, with the farmer in charge.

The ask

Back the farm that already runs itself.

We’re talking to funders, impact investors, agricultural extension programs and hardware partners. Your capital turns one proven, founder-operated pilot into a kit any farm can adopt, and a head start no dashboard-first competitor can replicate.
